For that reason, event creators will always receive chat messages for their events, even if they RSVP No.
How Chat Notifications Normally Work
For regular players, TeeTimeHelper generally sends event chat messages to players who are participating in the event. Players who RSVP No are excluded from chat notifications so they don't continue receiving messages about an event they have decided not to attend.
The event creator is treated differently.
Why Event Creators Still Receive Messages
As the event creator, you may have created the event, invited everyone, arranged the details, and be responsible for keeping the group organized. Even if you later decide that you aren't playing, you would normally still want to know about important conversations and changes involving the event.
For example, if you RSVP No but another player posts:
"We're moving the tee time back 30 minutes."
"Does anyone want to play an extra nine?"
"John can't make it anymore."
"Where are we meeting?"
"The course just changed our starting time."
You may still want to see those messages because you're the person who organized the event.
The Simple Rule
RSVP No players don't normally receive event chat messages — but the event creator always does.
This allows TeeTimeHelper to reduce unnecessary notifications for players who aren't attending while making sure the person responsible for organizing the event stays informed.
So if you're the event creator and decide not to play, don't worry about missing an important conversation. You'll continue to receive chat messages for the event you created.
