✅ Update – July 27, 2025 @ 9:17pm CST

We’re pleased to report that all services for TeeTimeHelper have now been fully restored. Our server is back online and functioning normally following the resolution of the earlier data center issues at Akamai (Linode).

🔄 Update – July 27, 2025 @ 8:30pm CST

Some services within the Akamai (Linode) Newark data center have now been partially restored, but access to the TeeTimeHelper server remains unavailable.

We have had multiple direct communications with Akamai, and while they confirm that work is actively ongoing to restore all services, they have not committed to a specific timeline for resolution.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide another update as soon as more progress is made.

TeeTimeHelper Downtime Update – July 27, 2025

We want to keep you informed about the ongoing unavailability of TeeTimeHelper. The issue stems from a widespread infrastructure problem affecting our hosting provider Linode, which is a part of Akamai Technologies.

What Happened?

Earlier today, Akamai (via its Linode platform) experienced a major service disruption in its US-East (Newark) data center, where TeeTimeHelper’s infrastructure is hosted. This was caused by cooling system failures following a power outage. Although power has been restored, the cooling issues have led to continued downtime as systems are gradually brought back online.

Immediate Response

We were alerted immediately by our own internal status monitoring system, which allowed us to begin investigating and tracking the issue in real time. While the outage is on the hosting provider’s side, we’ve been proactive in communicating with Akamai and preparing any necessary contingencies.

Current Impact

TeeTimeHelper is currently offline, and users may not be able to access the site or related services. This outage has extended beyond Newark, affecting other Akamai/Linode data centers including Dallas, Fremont, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, and Washington.

Latest from Akamai

"Impact to Linode Kubernetes Engine (LKE) services has been confirmed to extend to several data centers due to the interaction with our data center in Newark. We continue working to bring services back online."

What We’re Doing

We are closely monitoring Akamai’s status updates and will take additional action if extended downtime continues. We’ll provide updates here and via email to keep you informed.

Your Data Is Safe

All TeeTimeHelper data is secure. This is strictly a hosting-level service outage—no customer data has been lost or compromised.

Thank You for Your Patience

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We’re working to restore access as soon as Akamai resolves the infrastructure issue.

You're Invited! How to RSVP to a TeeTimeHelper Event

When a fellow golfer invites you to join a golf outing using TeeTimeHelper, you’ll receive a personalized email invitation. This email is your gateway to quickly and easily respond to the event—and claim your spot on the tee sheet.

Here’s what to expect and how to RSVP in just a few clicks:

Step 1: Check Your Email

Look for an email from TeeTimeHelper with the subject line referencing your upcoming golf event. Inside the email, you’ll see key event details—such as the course, date, and time—and a prominent button labeled:

👉 “RSVP for this Event”

Clicking this button will securely take you to a web page where you can view all the details and respond.

Step 2: View the Event Details

Once you click the button, you’ll land on a dedicated event page showing:

  • The event name and golf course details

  • The scheduled date and time

  • A list of members who have already RSVP’d—see who’s playing!

This page helps you get a feel for who’s in and whether you’d like to join.

Step 3: RSVP and Choose a Tee Time

At the bottom of the event page, you'll see clear buttons to RSVP Yes or No.

✅ If you select Yes, may be prompted to add members to your tee time

❌ Selecting No lets the organizer know you’re sitting this one out, and you won’t receive further reminders for that event.

Step 4: You're In!

Once you RSVP “Yes” and pick a tee time, your name will appear on the event roster. If the group has enabled it, you may also be able to see and manage your foursome by adding or removing players later on.
