Understanding Messaging with the TeeTimeHelper App

We've received many questions about messaging features in the new TeeTimeHelper App. Here's everything you need to know to make the most of this powerful tool.

Admin Messaging Capabilities

As an admin, you have the flexibility to send messages from various devices. Whether you're using a computer, tablet, or mobile device, you can send messages through:

You can mix and match these options as needed. There are no restrictions or special configurations required—just use whatever device and platform work best for you.

Messaging for Members

For Members Without the App

If a member has not installed the TeeTimeHelper app, your messages will be delivered via email, as usual.

For Members With the App

When a member has the app installed, messages will default to being delivered as push notifications instead of emails. Push notifications offer faster and more direct access to your messages.

Messages with Attachments

If a message includes an attachment, an email containing the attachment will also be sent. Push notifications themselves cannot include attachments, so this ensures your members still receive all necessary materials.

Push Notifications vs. Emails

Similarities

Both push notifications and emails are typically received as notifications on your device. For emails, the notification will display the email icon and open your mail app when clicked.

TeeTimeHelper Push Notifications

Push notifications from TeeTimeHelper offer several advantages:

  • Direct Access: Pressing a push notification opens the TeeTimeHelper app, giving you quicker access to your events and information.

  • Convenient Storage: Push notifications are stored in the app under the "Messages" tab. If you accidentally dismiss a notification, you can easily revisit it within the app.

Customizing Notifications

Push notifications are enabled by default when the app is installed. If you or your members prefer receiving emails instead of push notifications, simply:

  1. Go to the "Settings" tab in the app.

  2. De-select the option for "Use push notifications in lieu of emails."

This ensures you can tailor the experience to fit your communication preferences.
