Organize a Golf Tournament
Looking to set up a golf tournament for your friends, club, or charity event? Keeping track of invitees, paid participants, and current entries can be a challenge even for the most organized person.
Traditionally, these golf events were kept track on a notebook or spreadsheets with phone numbers. The fundamental problem with these methods is that the data is only known by few people until they decide to disseminate it. And it shifts the burden of work solely on those people, all the information bottlenecks through them.
Luckly, we have advanced beyond the point of mailing around spreadsheets and making phone calls.
TeeTimeHelper can quickly send out RSVP's, organize your tee times, and give everyone the firsthand updates of the event status at any time. It's also simple and easy to use.
Using the one page event setup form you can create a golf outing and send your invites. You even have the option to allow the invitees to invite other guests - a great way to automatically grow your event. It's like delegating your marketing efforts to your participants which means less work for you!
At any point you can "lock" your event so no more changes can be made. And then you have the option to randomize the groups. You may wish to easily e-mail only the people who will be attending your golf outing...of course TeeTimeHelper can do that, too.
And when everything is set, print out your start sheet from TeeTimeHelper and you are ready to run your event.
So organize your golf tournament today!

TeeTimeHelper supports large events and outings
TeeTimeHelper offers support for shotgun events and general RSVP's.
In order to facilitate organizing these larger groups TeeTimeHelper now does more checking to avoid potential problems. For example, we now check for duplicate events which can avoid time consuming corrections.
Also, we are now showing a progress bar when an operation can take longer so the organizer can see that TeeTimeHelper is still processing the request and not abort or reload the web page.
Both of these enhancements will help organizer easily create events and provide more user feedback as the event is created and administered.

Randomize golf groups improved
We have dramatically improved the randomization of tee times for TeeTimeHelper. In the past the algorithm simply filled the tee times to the maximum number allowed in each group with the partial groups at the end. This resulted in smaller groups scheduled to go out after the full groups which probably results in slower play.
We have now made it so the smaller groups go out first. Also, if the number of golfers evenly divides into the number of tee times we use that so the groups move around hopefully at the same pace. For example, if you have 6 players and 2 tee times we will group them as 3 and 3 instead of 2 and 4.
Also, before submitting we will tell you how many people will be in each group so when you do randomize your golf event there will be no surprises .. except for who is playing together!
Happy golfing,

Get RSVPs for golf events without specifying tee times
Do you want to get RSVP's for a golf event without specifying tee times? For example, some organizers would want to invite 8 or 12 people and then divide up into groups on the putting green or driving range. You can also take RSVP's and then divide your golfers into tee times at a later date using TeeTimeHelper.
Fortunately, all of these scenarios are now supported by TeeTimeHelper. Golfers can RSVP for an event so you know who is coming and then divide up groups using tee time helper or divide them up yourself before the round.
When you organize an event you now have three options:
You can switch between the different event types on the Organize Golf Outings page.

TeeTimeHelper adds "Event Note" option
We've had some feedback from our users (thank you!) to make available a way to add special notes to events. A few months ago we added a note at the tee time level, but it seemed like a good idea to make a notations at the golf event level.
For example, you may wish to describe the format of play or any special announcement regarding the event. Previously you would have needed to put that information with the golf course name which was confusing to the players.
So we added a golf event "note" which can be filled out when creating the event or edited afterwards. In the case were it is added or modified after creating the event we send out e-mail to your group to that effect.
Happy golfing,
